Trenchless Sewer Line Repair

Sewer pipe lining or pipe coating can be a more reliable and less intrusive alternative to traditional repair processes. Roto-Rooter offers trenchless pipe lining and pipe coating services for the Sioux Falls and Brookings areas.

Regardless of what others might suggest, you may not have to dig up and replace old sewer lines at your property. Which in the end, can save you a lot of money and headaches.

If someone says your sewer line needs replacing, and they're going to have to dig up a whole bunch of your property, don't hesitate to get a second opinion from Roto-Rooter.

After we inspect the pipe, we'll recommend either coating or lining depending on your situation.

And before a lining or coating can be applied to the interior walls of the pipe, our high-speed drain cleaning machine will remove the scale, rust, roots, etc. that may have built up over time.

What is Pipe Lining?

In CIPP (Cured-In-Place Pipe) lining, a felt tube saturated with resin—typically made from polyester, fiberglass cloth, or other resin-compatible materials—is inserted into a damaged pipe. This insertion is generally performed from an upstream access point, such as a manhole or excavation site. While it is possible to invert the liner from a downstream access point, doing so involves increased risk. Installing the liner from the downstream end to an upstream blind end carries the highest risk of all CIPP methods. This trenchless technique involves minimal to no digging, making it a potentially more cost-effective and less disruptive alternative to traditional "dig and replace" pipe repair methods.

What is Pipe Coating?

Sewer pipe coating offers a fast, reliable, safe and environmentally-friendly method for restoring damaged sewer pipes to like-new condition. Instead of digging trenches to reach the underground pipes, the technique involves the insertion of a specially designed brush attached to a hose and cable in the pipe. The flexibility of the hose enables it to bend as it travels through the piping system. The brush head applies a resin that hardens to create a protective "pipe within a pipe." All under the watchful eye of a special camera, directly behind the brushes.

WHAT PROBLEMS CAN LINING OR COATING REMEDY?

It's an effective long-term solution for a variety of common piping repair issues. It can cover or seal small cracks, prevent leaks, and improve the system's structural integrity. It's great for older cast-iron pipe that may be close to its predicted lifespan.
